Back on the Motorcycles

We found a sweet RV park in Cresent Oregon called Big Pines. We decided to stay a couple of days as it was quiet, reasonably priced and there was a lot of traffic on the highway going north. Camp set up is fast now that we have things better organized and we have experience setting up. Lee, Kathy and I decided to break out the bikes for the first time and motor over to Crater Lake NP. Finding all of the PPE for the bikes and double checking things took a little more time than the last time we rode together several years ago. Both bikes are Kawasaki KLR 650. The red one is the bike I rode the entire Pan American Highway. The green one I picked it up cheap while my bike was in South America. I used it to make sure aftermarket parts would fit on my SA bike. I’ve kept both of them, just cause.

Carolyn wanted some time to relax and recharge so she volunteered to stay with the dogs.

We entered the north entrance with out a wait found the first overlook and stopped. Traffic was light and parking lots had plenty of space, something we didn’t expect for a Saturday. After some more stops a short walk, and a quick bite of lunch we took some twisty roads on the way back home. 160 miles was a good shakedown cruise. It was so good to be back on the bikes.

Now that’s blue water!
